Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park
Highlands Heritage Jamboree celebrates the music, traditions and spirit of the mountains with an afternoon of live music, mountain dance, local history, barbecue, moonshine and community fun in Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park.
This free community event begins at 1 pm with the Highlands Bagpipers, followed by a historic moonshine display presented by the Highlands Historical Society. Guests can enjoy a performance by the U.S. Fleet Forces Navy Band: Four-Star Edition from 1:30-3:30pm, followed by bluegrass mountain music from the Foxfire Boys.
Highlands Smokehouse will serve barbecue beginning at 4pm, with a moonshine tasting also available during the afternoon.
The celebration concludes with the Darren Nicholson Band performing from 5-7:30pm. Blending bluegrass, western swing, classic country, folk and gospel, the band brings an authentic mountain sound to the evening. A special guest square dance caller will invite guests to join in and take part in the tradition.
Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a family-friendly afternoon filled with music, food and mountain hospitality.
