How to Maximize Your Chamber Membership

There are an array of opportunities awaiting you as a Member of the Highlands Chamber of Commerce. Below, you will find a list of dynamic strategies designed to help you maximize your Chamber membership. These 24 steps are not just about personal benefits; they are an opportunity to contribute to the local business community. Let’s get down to business and make 2024 a year of impactful engagement.

  1. Online Access: Manage your Chamber membership completely online using the Member portal. Access billing, add employees, post jobs and more.

  1. Business Directory Listing: Ensure your business information is updated in the Chamber's business directory to enhance your online presence.

  1. Job Postings: Take advantage of the Chamber’s job board to find qualified talent for your business.

  1. Include Your Staff in Your Membership: Encourage active participation in the Chamber by your staff to maximize membership benefits across all levels of your organization.

  1. Calendar of Events: Submit your events for our online calendar of events. You may also be included in our monthly printed calendar, which is distributed to all local businesses.

  1. Social Media Engagement: Interact with the Chamber on social media platforms to stay informed and promote your business updates. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. You can also join our exclusive Chamber Member group on Facebook.

  1. Networking Events: Attend Chamber Business After Hours and Coffee Chats regularly to connect with fellow members and expand your community knowledge and professional network.

  1. Host a Ribbon Cutting: Celebrate your new business, an anniversary, or a renovation, while connecting with the local business community.

  1. Promotional Opportunities: Promote your business news, special events or member-to-Member discounts in our Member and Community Emails. Have news to share? Send it to communications@highlandsChamber.org.

  1. Upgrade Your Membership: Become a leader, investor, promoter or supporter and receive additional benefits including social media spotlights, ad in the annual Experience Guide, ranked business listing on our website, event recognition and more – depending on membership level

  1. Member-to-Member Discounts: Offer exclusive discounts to other Chamber members to encourage collaboration and business among members.

  1. Meet at the Chamber: Chamber members may reserve our conference room (with seating for 10) at no cost.

  1. Stay Informed: Regularly check the Chamber’s website, e-news, and communications to stay informed about upcoming events, opportunities, and important updates.

  1. Business Referrals: Actively refer fellow Chamber members to your clients and partners and encourage them to do the same for you. These companies share your interest in making our community thrive.

  1. Volunteer: Volunteer at a Chamber event such as Plateau Pick Up, Highlands Heritage Jamboree, the Christmas parade, or Snow Fest. Show that your business is active in the community and giving back.

  1. Leadership Highlands: Apply to the program or support an employee’s application. Our Leadership Highlands program prepares future leaders for positions of responsibility by acquainting them with community processes, programs, challenges and assets.

  1. Refer a New Member: Referring new members to join the Chamber is a powerful way for you to strengthen the collective voice, expand the network, and foster a thriving business community through mutual support and collaboration.

  1. Chamber Awards: Nominate your business or colleagues for Chamber awards at our annual Autumn Ovation event to gain recognition within the community.

  1. Host a Networking Event: Showcase your business and foster community connections as the host of a Business After Hours or Coffee Chat.

When consumers know your business is a member of the local Chamber, they have higher confidence in your products and services, your business is viewed as being more trustworthy and consumers are more likely to shop with you versus a competitor who is not a Chamber member.

  1. Stay in Touch: We rely on your feedback to guide our efforts. If you have ideas, suggestions or there is something you are looking for in your membership that is not being provided, please let us know.
