Bear Shadow 

This annual springtime event is multiple days of “music, mountains and revelry”. Taking place May 11-12 festival goers can expect two days of food, drinks, and world class music acts. Vendors from all over Western North Carolina head to Winfield Farm to bring Bear Shadow attendees the opportunity to shop, eat and drink while enjoying music in the mountains.  

High Style 

The Highlands Chamber of Commerce/Visit Highlands, NC’s new event is three days of celebrating Highlands’s unique style. A fashion show, featuring your favorite local retailers kicks off Saturday ‘s events and sparks your need to do some Highlands, NC shopping. Plan to pack your day full interactive demonstrations, workshops and hands on classes or wander through town and pick your favorite spot to stop and listen to some live music. Wrap up Saturday’s festivities with a concert in Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park. Sunday, you can enjoy Pancakes and Prosecco at The Bascom with live music, a special prosecco sabering demo and a good time to wrap up your weekend of High Style.  

Highlands Motoring Festival  

The annual Highlands Motoring Festival is a four-day festival for classic car enthusiasts. This premier car festival is the perfect way to spend a long weekend in Highlands, with six events to attend over four days. The motoring festival features a parade, car show, guest celebrities, a mountain driving experience and more.  

Mountain Top Art & Craft Show 

The Mountain Top Art & Craft Show is an annual event attended by hundreds each year. The event is held on two different weekends, one in June and August. You can plan to spend the weekend checking out unique and handmade creations from across the plateau and Western North Carolina. You can support painters, pottery makers, woodworkers, photographers, and many more artisans at this bi-annual summer event. Enhancing the experience, one hundred percent of profits from the festival support local and international causes. 

Highlands Heritage Jamboree 

Enjoy the cool October air and changing leaves while celebrating Highlands’ rich and unique history. The Highlands Heritage Jamboree is an annual event showcasing the uniqueness of Highlands’ history from bagpipers, clogging and bluegrass to moonshine and delicious barbecue. Plan to spend a Saturday in Highlands beneath an autumn mountain setting testing moonshine, devouring barbecue and enjoying music in the mountains.
