In Winter, Highlands’ off-season serenity makes it the perfect place for a mountain reset. Book your visit, year-round, at one of our incredible Places to Stay. Bear in mind, some of your favorite Highlands businesses alter operating hours until early March, and it can be confusing to sort through announcements to find who is open. We’ve created this guide as a one-stop-shop to keep you in the know!
BEST TIMES TO VISIT (WHEN MOST PLACES ARE OPEN)
THU–SAT: Best overall. Most shopping + dining options are open, with the most consistent daytime hours.
MON & WED: Good for shopping/coffee, but expect more restaurant + shopping closures than Thu–Sat.
TUE: Quietest day. Many businesses close (or run limited hours). Great day for hiking/scenic drives/spa appointments.
SUN: Many shops close earlier. Plan a daytime visit and confirm dinner plans.
(Always confirm before you go as hours can change with weather, staffing, and private events.)
