The Orchard Sessions: ABC Trio with Tom Herbort

2019 was a big year in Highlands as the Covid pandemic had a major influence on our local, state, and national economy. But out of the pandemic and its tumultuous times, the ABC Trio and new friendships were formed. Brian, Caleb, and David all started to play together during the pandemic, but due to Covid restrictions had to wait until 2020 to perform in public. Since then the group has been flying high performing for numerous town events as well as private parties in the area. Looking for additional horn players to experiment with sound the group met Tom Herbort in 2022 and added him to the grand musical expression. The sound of the ABC Trio has been described as eclectic, refined, and warm. Mostly playing and performing the realm of Jazz, soul, and funk, the ABC Trio combines complex harmonies, syncopated rhythms, and a heavy emphasis on improvisation. Musical influences include, but are not limited to Ray Charles, Jimmy Smith, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Herbie Hancock, James Brown, Miles Davis, Parliament Funkadelic, and much more. The ABC Trio delivers a relaxing, rhythmic, and diverse repertoire of professional tunes, which you are sure to enjoy.
